Bartlesville Gets 3G

Like a satellite galaxy north of Tulsa, Bartlesville now has 3G phone service from AT&T. So my iPhone is speedier than ever when I’m away from the WiFi.

Golly, Google!

Google’s forthcoming update to their Google Mobile iPhone app will add voice search. Should be FUNtastic, given that typing on the iPhone’s virtual keyboard is a pain. The update was just announced, but hasn’t been posted yet to the iTunes store.

Extrasolar Planet Images

Extrasolar Planets around HR 8799

For years astronomers have been identifying planets around other stars by observing star wobbles created by Newton’s Third Law of Motion. Today the first direct images of extrasolar planets were released. NASA showed a planet orbiting the star Fomalhaut, while the Gemini and Keck observatories released images of a three-planet system around star HR 8799.
