A Pink Martini for Rita
China Forbes and the rest of the Pink Martini group offer up a simply wonderful rendition of Amado Mio, the song written originally for Rita Hayworth’s Gilda. Since Rita was overdubbed in the movie, why not overdub her again with this version?
I was ignorant of Pink Martini’s wonderful music until this song was laid over the end credits of Carlos Cuarón’s short You Owe Me (Me La Debes) on the DVD release of his brother Alfonso’s sensational Y tu Mama Tambien.
